Luis Pablo is an excellent “independent” woodcarver from the city of Oaxaca. His work has been heavily influenced by the “Jimenez” family of the village of Arrazola---and this mandril, a west African baboon with pink and blue facial features, is similar to Moise Jimenez’s efforts. Maguay fibers have been used for this elaborate and profuse head of hair. Captivating!
